Glasson Basin Marina
Conveniently situated at the end of an arm of the Lancaster Canal and with an entrance into the River Lune and the River Lune Estuary is Glasson Basin Marina. This secure marina which has 156 water berths and 110 shore berths is well sheltered from the elements on its own lake. Glasson Dock is a working sea port which enjoys stunning views across the Bay at Morecambe, the hills and mountain of the Lake District and across to Blackpool and its Tower. The marina is home to sailing yachts and sea going motor cruisers as well as commercial fishing boats. Moorings for canal boats are available either on the canal section or around the lake. This part of Lancashire boasts some superb scenery and with the University City of Lancaster not far away with its vast array of shops, bars and restaurants it makes an excellent choice of mooring venue.
The marina is owned and run by BWML who have an enviable reputation as a large operator of marinas both inland and coastal throughout the length and breadth of Great Britain. The marina can be easily accessed from the M6 motorway at Junctions 33 or 34 depending in which direction you are coming from.
The marina benefits from all the services you would come to expect from a modern marina complex and can offer the facilities of a full working boatyard with the added benefit of a well-stocked chandlery.
